Highlights of Work Completed in Southborough, MA
Want to know what we’ve done for your Southborough neighbors? Here are some of our recent projects.
Septic Tank Pumping in Southborough, MA
We provide septic tank pumping services for our customers in Southborough, MA. We know that routine septic pumping is a crucial part of keeping your system healthy, so after an inspection and evaluation, we put our customers on their own septic pumping schedule that’s specific for their home.
Sometimes we find that the previous septic company never fully pumped the tank. Our Southborough customer, Mary S. called to schedule a septic tank pumping because she had been told by their previous company that they needed to pump every year.
When we inspected the septic system, we found almost 2 feet of sludge - which is double the 1-foot recommended threshold for pumping! It looks as if the previous never cleaned the septic tank all the way to the bottom.
Thankfully Mary called us to clean out the tank just in time before the excess sludge caused blockages that could be very expensive to fix. Just to be sure there was no additional damage, we performed a drainfield inspection. We discovered a distribution box full of sludge, but Grant’s Septic Techs were able to clean it and restore it to a fully functioning distribution box.
After we finished cleaning the tank, we set Mary’s household of 5 on a schedule for every 2 years.

Drain Field Evaluation in Southborough, MA
Just like many systems in your home, your septic systems can degrade or lose efficiency over time. After about 20 years of regular usage, most septic systems have reduced capacity by 40-50% because the drainfield accumulates biomaterials (or “biomat”) over time, creating small clogs and slower drainage.
Southborough homeowner Jason C. was worried that with a septic tank over 20 years old and the frequency usage of his family of 5 that his septic system may begin to experience issues.
“Super - Professional Team. Very pleasant to work with, knowledgeable, and friendly. These gentlemen operate on another level. Would strongly recommend!”

Septic Maintenance Test Program in Southborough, MA
Occasionally, homeowners just don’t know how often to pump. Maybe they’ve just moved into the house, or maybe they’ve guessed at it all these years.
Southborough resident Kuan Z. called Grant’s Septic Techs to take a look at his system. He wasn’t sure how often to pump. Upon inspection, we found 1 foot and 2 inches of sludge in his septic tank - a sure sign that it was time to clean out the tank.
Their household of 3 residents had last pumped their septic tank 4 years ago. Since it took them 4 years to build up 1 foot of sludge, we put them on a septic maintenance program of pumping every 4 years. It would be a waste of money for this family to pump every year.
“Wonderful company and wonderful people to work with. Provide me very details how they work how to clean the septic. Highly recommend.”
